  • Introduce yourself to your classmates. Include your background and what made you want to get into nursing? Tell us how anatomy and physiology has influenced your life so far?
  • Follow-up Post: Watch this video: Let’s Get Started in BIOS25Links to an external site.!
    • Homeostasis is the body’s ability to maintain a stable internal environment despite external stressors. Key physiological processes, such as temperature regulation, fluid balance, and hormone control, ensure that the body functions properly under changing conditions.
    • As a nursing student, you also face various stressors: long study hours, clinical responsibilities, emotional challenges, and personal commitments that can disrupt your own “homeostatic balance.” Just as the body uses feedback mechanisms to maintain stability, you must develop strategies to regulate stress, maintain well-being, and prevent burnout.
      • How can the concept of physiological homeostasis be applied to managing stress, time, and personal well-being of managing multiple courses at once in this program as you move towards your graduation?
      • Using the video above on getting started in A&P, what resources and strategies could you incorporate for yourself or your fellow students to aid in maintaining homeostasis to ensure success in class?
      • Can you think of a time when you or someone you know experienced a disruption in personal “homeostasis”? What steps were taken to restore balance?
      • You are working to make a change and become a registered nurse!  What are the factors in your own life that are working to hold you back in place and what are your plans to rise up and overcome these homeostatic mechanisms present in your life as you become a nurse?

Solution

Hello Everyone!!

My Name is Victoria Ojo. I am 38 from Illinois, currently I am a Medical Assistant for a general practice, and I have a 5 month old mini poodle named Wanji . I have always wanted to be a nurse for as long as I can remember due to all the family history that I know of however what solidified it  for me was my great grandma who has a few health conditions that I learned about when I first went to La Luz de Tututepec, Oaxaca when I was in 6th grade. While being in Oaxaca I quickly learned that It was very difficult to get to where my great grandmother lives and it was also a bit dangerous, one question I did ask my grandmother while being there is how they got the medical attention for her and she replied with “we do what we can with what they give us once a month if they come, sometimes they go 2 months without coming to town” hearing that from them made me feel very emotional due to the life I know I am very fortunate to have here. I have since then have always been about being in the medical field because I knew going forward the way I felt about my own family and their situation back here at home I wanted to do my best to make sure patients and their families did not feel the same way I felt in that moment………………….Add to chart to purchase the full solution at $10
