APEA exam – ASC 3P Exam
Hello NP Students!
You’ve made it to the part of your program where you will be taking the 3P exam very soon! Please read this entire email carefully, as it contains important reminders and dates to make sure you are ready to test.
Note: If you have already skipped a testing window in the past, this is your LAST chance to test! Please read the 3P Exam specific policy attached.
- Plan for Your Testing Window: The upcoming testing window is 8am EST on September 1st – 8am EST on September 8th. *Please note that if you are in a July course, this exam window will be in Week 7 of the class. *If you are in N523, you MUST test in week 7 of your course – NO EXCEPTIONS!
- Confirm Access to Your School Email: You were assigned a student email upon enrolling and should be able to access that by logging in at outlook.office.com. Please be sure you can do so and that you start regularly checking this email.
- All 3P purchasing info and communication will go to this school email, but you will also be required to use it for clinicals as you move forward in the NP program. If you have trouble accessing, please reach out to your SSA!
- Check out the 3P Workroom! You are enrolled in a 3P workroom which provides resources and reminders. While this is not a graded class, please participate so you can be well-prepared for the exam and take full advantage of the resources! *There are some mandatory documents to review for Proctorio, so please access your workroom in a timely manner! NOTE: Students in our last window who actively used the workroom each week had a higher pass rate!
- Proctored Exam: This exam is online AND proctored! After we finalize the testing list the week of August 18th, you’ll receive emails with instructions on purchasing the exam. You will test through APEA’s proctoring service, Proctorio. There is no need to schedule, but make sure to read through the steps as outlined in the 3P Workroom!

STUDENTS ACTIVE IN A JULY 3P CLASS (NOT including N523 or 3P Workroom):
*If you are in N523, you MUST test in week 7 of your course – NO EXCEPTIONS!
If you prefer to test after your July course ends, you will be required to enroll in the 3P Exam Workroom for the 8-week September term and test during week 7 of that “course” (making the testing window 10/27 – 11/3).
You would not have to pay for this class, there are no specific due dates or grades, and it contains many great preparation resources. Please be aware that choosing not to test in week 7 of your current term will delay your program (your next NP class would not start until November). While the extra time may work for some, data from our most recent testing window showed that students who test while in N522 had a higher pass rate than those who skipped a window!
If you plan to POSTPONE: Please let your SSA know by August 18th so we can add you to the next term’s 3P Workroom. If we do not hear from you by 8/18, you will be required to test in your original window at the end of August.
